Hello, I am trying to set up this plugin but whenever I activate it, it automatically unlinks posts from authors.

e.g. Author A has r posts attributed to them prior to activating the plugin. I activate the plugin, Author A has zero posts attributed to them.

This happens for all users and appears in both the PublishPress Authors list as well as the default WP Users list.

In some cases, some of the posts attributed to an author carry over, and some don’t. I cannot identify any pattern as to why some do and some don’t, but most don’t.

    Can this be fixed?

    Hi @greener_ian ,

    Thanks for using PublishPress Authors.

Could you please go to Authors > Setting > Maintenance, and click this button?

Let me know if the issue persists.

Thanks for your reply. That fixed most of the issues, but there are still instances where a duplicate entry was created with a “cap-username” profile, and that user’s posts are split between the user profile “username” and “cap-username”

    Any suggestions to reconciling these?

Hi @greener_ian. I’ve seen that happen with some older plugins that had CoAuthors Plus installed in the past. “cap-” in this case refers to CoAuthors Plus.

If there’s just few instances left, the final tidy-up task here would be to manually move the posts to the correct user profile.

    Thank you for clarifying that!
