Posts Widget and Featured Image

I added a Posts Widget to a new post. In order for the widget to display images, I have to set a Featured Image for the posts. But when I set a Featured Image, it shows up at the top of the post, which offsets and usually duplicates the image I already have at the top of the post. Is there a way to set a Featured Image so it will show on the Posts Widget but not have it display in the post itself?
