Posts’ with Tags’ – Orphaned Pages no incoming internal links in Ahrefs report

It’s up to you whether tags should be relevant or not. Their use is optional. It’s one way of organizing posts, possibly helping users find related posts. If there are that many posts that involve tags, I’d think tags are utilized in some meaningful way. I recommend making a DB backup before doing bulk removals of any sort.

Because WP uses pre-defined URL structures, it’s not uncommon for there to be orphaned URLs. These are typically alternative links to a resource that’s linked by some other means. There are sometimes intentionally orphaned content that are reached by dynamic script. Not good for SEO, but it may not be important for such pages. Other than for SEO reasons, there’s little harm in orphaned pages existing, but they may serve little purpose if users don’t know to go there.

For future reference, when you create a new topic, it’s best to share a link to a relevant page in the “Link to the page you need help with:” field. Only logged in users can see this field, for those concerned about search engines indexing their links. In any case, all links anywhere get a “nofollow” attribute. Placing links to your site within a topic’s text can look a little spammy, but we’re generally able to discern the difference between legit and spam.
