• I’ve gone in to edit either a page or a post. There are no editing icons – unable to go between “html” and “visual” editing tabs. The text is all white (drag highlighting shows the text).

Only plugins are Hello Dolly, Akesmit, and All in One SEO.

    Any ideas?

  • Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    increasing the available memory?

Hello. Thank you for your response esmi.

I’ve uninstalled all the plugins. Tested for the media buttons. Not there. I left them uninstalled and changed to the default theme. Tested for the media buttons. Not there. The site is hosted with godaddy or hostgator, it’s the only site on it’s serving space. So I can’t change that.

    Any other ideas?

I just tried to install the backup plugin – and get this message

An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.

Am I correct that the WordPress is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled?
