    Hello,
Wordfence detected a potential malicious file: “File appears to be malicious of unsafe in wp-content/cache/object/…”.
I can’t tell if it is a false positive, could you help me finding it out? I already sent a mail also to samples@.
My site runs W3 Total cache.
    Thanks in advance,
    Marta

Hi @tecnowp, thanks for dropping us a message.

It is possible that a cached file would raise a false-positive as they are not part of the standard WordPress installation fileset. I have seen W3 Total Cache compile HTML pages to speed up page loads but can’t see if that’s the case here from the information in your post.

If the team at samples get back to you directly via email, you may not need to take this any further here. If you don’t receive any news in the coming days then feel free to provide the name of the file that was found to confirm whether it’s the HTML issue I mentioned above and I can try to confirm whether it’s safe.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
