/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/admin/class-wc-admin-menus.php’ Universal decode regex match = [universal decoder]

    /public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/vendor/maxmind-db/reader/ext/maxminddb.c’ Suspicious file type [application/x-c]

I got these messages from my hosting platform about potential malware. Any ideas about this? Should I delete these files?

    Hi @tboy123

We appreciate your vigilance and understand your concern about the messages you received from your hosting platform regarding potential malware.

The files mentioned seem to be actually part of the WooCommerce plugin’s core files. The first file class-wc-admin-menus.php is responsible for creating WooCommerce’s admin menus, while the second file maxminddb.c is part of the MaxMind DB Reader, which WooCommerce uses for geolocation features.

These files should not be deleted as they could disrupt the functionality of your WooCommerce plugin or even your entire website.

If your hosting platform has flagged these files, it’s possible that they have been modified or infected by malware. I recommend you to first ensure that all plugins, theme, and WordPress itself are up-to-date.

If malware is detected, follow the instructions provided by the security plugin you use to clean your site, or you may contact their support.

    I hope this helps!
