• While my 10.4 powerbook was being repaired, I needed to do some editing on a G5 imac running 10.5. When editing a post, I had an editing window full of white text on a white ground with the red underlines for dubious spellings but not much else.

This occurred in Camino and Safari. To read anything I had to select all and the text appeared inside a light blue highlight.

Went to the local library and logged on half an hour later using a Windows machine under XP, editing window normal. Same thing when I got my powerbook back earlier today. So it’s not server side plugins, nor is it about 2.8.4 so much as an OS version-dependent support issue.

There are a number of threads from Safari users describing similar issues but in different contexts or windows. Any technical fixes or workarounds for 10.5 users stuck with blank bits of screen? (didn’t have a toolbar of any description nor access to visual/HTML editing modes in the iMac editing window under 10.5)(not sure that 10.6 supports G5 chips, either)
