• hi! im using wordpress as a host for my website and recently been noticing that from the same overseas location the page getting a lot of views. It got suspicious when I checked with wp statistics, and it viewed as different IP addresses but at the same Geo locations are viewing specifically my wp-admin page, 30-40 times a day, which is quite worrying.
I guess my question would be if personally I can do anything about this or where do I report such a thing?

  • Bots and hackers are always scanning sites looking for vulnerabilities. You could block the IP address range, but as you have noted, a network of compromised IP address are used so it’s playing catch up to try and block them. The best advice is to make sure your site is safe through following the advice in hardening WordPress, and then installing a good security firewall. The free Ninja Firewall is excellent, and full of additional security features such as login control and real-time file guard monitoring. I also recommend using Wordfence to scan your site daily and alert you to any changes or suspicious files.

Block the IP’s using one of the plugins Barnez mentioned.
