Potentially need to hack my own wordpress?

    Hey all! I’m in a bit of a pickle and I’d really appreciate some advice.

    I bought a website on one of those website marketplaces, which was built on the wordpress platform. Unfortunately for me, the guy from whom I bought it turned out to be useless at communicating and was generally unhelpful. I managed to squeeze him enough to get him to finally transfer all the files to my host, but to this day he still hasn’t told me the username and password to access the front-end wordpress area.

    Since I have all the files, is there some clever way I can get in and add my own user? Or verify that I now own the website so the password can be reset? Something like this would be great.
