Praise for StatPress

    Ok, this is probably the best statistic plug in I’ve used, and I’ve used a few. It gives me, the owner, all the basic statistics you need. It also gives me, the marketer, a slew of other stats that I can use to help the future versions of my site like what OS are people running or Browser – and what version. While this may sound trivial to some, it’s down right rockin for me.

    Get this – even if you’re running something like WordPress Stats – because it gives you way more information.
    And it’s awesome.
    And chicks dig a man who uses StatPress.

    Ok, that last one may not be entirely true.

  • Yeah, I love this plugin, too. I had an issue with IE screwing up one section of my site–an ad box–because it refused to use the text margins I specified in my style sheet. I figured I’d leave it alone because “who actually uses IE anymore, anyway?” Well, I ended up fixing the problem, only to discover later that most users view my site through IE7 or even IE6.

    (I also like the spy feature — shhhh)

    Yeah I ended up deactivating it because it increased the load on my website, slowing it down. I still run it on a few other sites, but sadly it wasn’t cuttin the butter.

    Side note: Since deactivating this plug I was going to go and clean the database of old stuff and overage. Well, I noticed 10mb worth if data from Statpress. HOLY CRAP. When you’re limited to 100mb per database by your host having a plugin take a tenth of that isn’t very nice.

    I’ll stick with Woopra and WP Stats.
