Pre Connect or DNS Prefetch Share Buttons

Thank you for providing us with the website’s URL.

I checked it and verified that the ShareThis Buttons are indeed already prefetching the ShareThis domain, as you can see by searching for the line of code <link rel=”dns-prefetch” href=”//platform-api.sharethis.com”>, I also used the site you mentioned, GT Metrix, to test the performance and it raised what you said in first place about the DNS Prefetch but with https://l.sharethis.com/, which might be an error since the buttons don’t call this URL.

With that being said, do you have a plugin that might optimize or help with the cache on your site which could be related to this?
Also, when testing the site with Chrome’s Lighthouse tool (which GT Metrix seems to use), there was no mention of the ShareThis URL, so that’s why I think it might be a glitch.

Correcting my last reply, although it seems it’s pre-fetching the domain, if you would want to pre-connect with ShareThis (which is different than pre-fetch) those plugins won’t seem to allow you to do so, you can check their settings if they have one for that, but there are other plugins more specialized on that.
You would add the domain GT Metrix mentions to the Pre-connect list, here are some guides on how to do it.

As what you were describing first is a custom implementation on your site, rather than something we can help you with directly, that is something that isn’t immediately supported by our service, nonetheless, we hope these tips help you implement it.
