pre-installed on Netfronts question

  • Ok, I’m a bit on the dull side here… Netfronts automatically installs wordpress for me on the server… Automatically sets up a sql db for me…

    Now do I need to set it up on my computer via my dreamweaver and then upload it to the server in the wordpress file via an ftp program?

    Where is the ‘admin panel’? Is there a program to install on my computer? If so how?

    (this is probably all very easy, but some small point is alluding me) ::sigh::

    No. You can work completely online. The only time you might want to install WordPress locally is if you want to develop a theme or plugin etc. offline.

    Thanks, how do I find the username and password… they don’t send it to me… just set it up, would it be in one of the files?

    Is it the same as the db name and pw?

    No – it should provided when the install was carried out by Netfronts. Do you know what email address was used for the admin account?

    yes, I know the email but not the id or password
    I tried to get it to send me a new password, but it said invalid username/email combination…

    Oh boy! Not another NetFronts issue again.
    Contact their support team and tell them you need the admin password for your wp installation.

    And while you are it, tell them to provide you with all the access point information. i.e cpanel, ftp and dns management. These should have been sent to you as a standard procedure when you signed for an account, you shouldn’t have to ask for them.
