The plugin does not set featured images for archive pages, only for posts. But, yeah, that is one of the features of the Pro version, implemented in two tasks:

    1. you can set featured images for existing posts of any custom taxonomy – custom tag, custom category, whatever – in one go (bulk edit),
    2. you can set automatic default featured images for future posts of any custom post type, matching any desired custom taxonomy.

You are able to select all entries of the available custom taxonomies, i.e. all your own categories, e.g. ‘British cars event’ or ‘Italian cars event’.

If the Pro version would not work as expected you will get your money back. So go Pro.

    Hi Martin

It sounds promising. Basically when a user creates an event it is optional for them to upload an image for the event. Hopefully this will sort out the events where the user hasnt uploaded one.

Any idea what will happen if a user then edits their post/event and uploads an image after the plugin has put one in? It is all via a buddypress form you see, I’m hoping their picture will then replace the placeholder.

Ill buy the pro and have a play. The offer of a refund is much appreciated. Ill let you know how it goes

    Regards

You can filter by user. You can toggle on and off overwriting existing featured images. In both tasks (bulk edit and preset defaults).
