Pre Purchase Questions

  • I am considering this theme by request of a client.

    Will the changes made to customize the theme be overwritten by updates?

    If so, is it advisable to copy and rename the theme?

    Finally, will editing the code directly, invalidate support for this theme?

  • I don’t work for Customizr but the answer will be the same for any WordPress theme. To customize, create a child theme and make your changes there. (You do not copy and rename the theme.) Knowledge of CSS is your first best friend for WordPress customization. Customizr provides support for hooks for further changes.

    If you edit the code directly your work may be undone in an update. I can’t imagine any theme creator being willing to support your edits directly to the theme. That’s what the Child Theme is for.

    There is an excellent plugin called Childify Me that will create the child theme for you.
