    Hello,

I’m currently using LinkWhisperer for a couple of years but am disappointed they don’t have a setting to limit how many times the same post has outbound internal links to another post.

So I’m considering this plugin. Reading the FAQ’s, it says:

Does the plugin change my content?
No – the plugin has its own index, where links that need to be created are efficiently stored. Whenever a page is rendered, the links are generated before output and your existing content is enriched with them. The content itself is not manipulated by the plugin.

I’m a bit confused, if the content isn’t manipulated by the plugin but ‘generated before output’, does this mean if I ever uninstall the plugin, I’d lose all the links this plugin has generated?

And if the links aren’t hardcoded into the HTML, does this plugin load any assets/resources on the front end of the site that may lead to unnecessary load time bloat?

    Thank you

    Matt

  • `Thank you for your question.

We do not provide content manipulation on the (database) page or the “the_content field” itself. Our link index is stored in a different table and rendered in the frontend. We only load the links in the frontend of the website from the index table.
You are welcome to try our (free) basic plugin to get your first experience.
    Many thanks!

    Thanks for the response Melissa.

    I see.

So if the links are stored in their own table, if I ever remove the plugin, I’ll lose all the links it has generated. Is this correct?

The answer is: “it depends” ??

You will find the setting, named “Keep configured keywords and plugin settings after plugin deactivation” in the Internal Link Juicer options menu. It is activated by default.

If you have it “on”: nothing (no keyword configurations, no settings) will get deleted after you deactivate the plugin.

If you have it “off”: a plugin deactivation will mean a clear and full uninstallation of the plugin and its related data

Everything here is already part of our free Basic version.

Hope this helps you a bit to clarify things.
