The majority of my time is spent on development, adding more features to Connections. For example, the update I am working only releasing is major and adds support for custom taxonomies (categories are a taxonomy, for example). This will enable me to add Tag support (which is a taxonomy) easily. More time is spent writing documentation and tutorials. Today, I am writing the update release announcement and developer documentation on adding custom taxonomies.

Videos are an excellent resource but take enormous amounts of time to produce. I would love to, but I lack the time to be able to produce them.

Actually, the plugin does not create any pages. You need to create the page and add the [connections] shortcode or Directory Block.

The quick start tutorial goes over the basics to get up and running. Here’s the link:

RE: submit listing

If you want your site visitors to submit Entries to your directory, you will need the Form addon. This will allow your visitors to submit moderated Entries to your directory. This addon will add an option to display a link to the submission form on the directory page.

If you want to allow your registered site users to add and maintain their own directory Entry, you will need the Link addon, with the Form addon being optional.

I hope this helps clear that up and not add more confusion!

Yes, you will need the CSV Import addon. You would save the Excel file as a CSV file to be imported.

RE: Can the plugin be used with Polylang,

You would add the Entry for each language your wish to have it represented in and assign it to a category. For example, you would add the Entry twice, once in English and once in French. You would then add English and French categories and assign the newly added Entries accordingly. You would then create two directory pages—one for English and the other for French. You would use the categories to display the corresponding language on each page.

RE: is the French language available?

There is a Frech translation. If you need to make a change or contribute to the translation. I can give you instruction on how if you need it.

The Team block can only be used in the new WordPress Post Editor. To insert a new block, refer to this WP doc page:

On the step where it says to search for a block, enter “team” and it should display as a search result. YOu will then click it to insert it into the post.

Then you can configure using the block options oin the right.
