Pre-sale questions (translations, ads, memberships, Javascript and geolocation)

  • Hello,

    I am interested in your solution but I have several questions first.

    • WPMobile seems to handle translations but how powerful is it? Can I translate any string with it? I have the Events Calendar plugin and other plugins, and small details like date format and picture captions and “alt” tags (etc.) that I would like to translate.
    • Another question about it: how are the translations displayed: switcher on each page, language wide-setting, autodetection?
    • My website has a free version with ads and a paid membership feature without ads. Will it be fully rendered in the native apps or is there any limitation about those two (paid membership in app and ads service)?
    • One of my main page works with a JS import from an external SaaS tool (JS library + CSS + link). Should I expect it to work as it is now once in the apps?
    • Does geolocation work with WPMobile?

    Hi

    1- WPMobile didnt translate the content but can help you to organize your localized content. Example if your app is in English but also available in Fran?ais, you can from the plugin tell that the homepage https://example.com/en/ have to be https://example.com/fr/ when the user switch to fr or open the app on a fr phone.
    There is also an integration of https://weglot.com/ that can automatically translate the app.

    2- Paid membership is not accepted on the store. It’s only accepted if the payment is made with the Apple/Google in app purchase system but this is not possible with WPMobile.

    3- Use the test app to confirm is everything is working fine: https://wpmobile.app/doc/test/

    4- Yes the app can use the Javascript Location API (used by most of the plugin where geolocation is available).

    Thanks for the exhaustive answer. The app doesn’t work on my phone unfortunately, maybe because I run a rooted Android variant (/e/).

    I can install it but it won’t launch. I don’t know why.
