Pre-scheduling slides?

I see where you can schedule a slide, much as you schedule a post, by simply changing the publish date to a future date. Unfortunately, unless a slide is published, it doesn’t show up in the slide picker for a channel. Any possibility we can get this functionality in a future update? I’d love to be able to just create a slide and then forget about it, having it auto-publish to the channel on the correct date and time.
