Newish to wordpress here. If I already have a GTM container set up and have been using it for years, but want to use this plugin for pushing Woocommerce info to the data layer. So my question is, if I use a plugin like this, that creates a GTM container on the site, would I have to remove my preexisting container and recreate all my tags in the new one? Or could I just stop the plugin from creating a new container in the first place and use the old one? Thanks!

I’m not sure if you are asking about the container on tagmanager.google.com or the container script which is placed on your site.

You can and should keep your container on tagmanager.google.com. GTM Kit will send data to this container.

If for some reason you want to keep your current container-script you can do this, but you have to deactivate the GTM Kit container code. This is a simple setting under General > Container > Container Code.
