    I installed this plugin on a separate test version of a live site and when I got it to look just how I wanted, I installed the same plugin and threw all the same settings in. When it displays on my live site, it has an extra choice field – the HTML or text preferred format field. Why is it only displaying on my live site if both sites are running the same version of the plugin with the same settings?

    Thanks for writing in. I’d certainly like to help check out this form showing the HTML/Plain-Text option with you. While this option can be enabled for built-in MailChimp Signup Forms, the option to display the “HTML or Plain-Text” preferred format is not an option with the List Subscribe plugin.

    That being said, I am interested in taking a look at the live site where this is occurring so we can get a better idea of why this is displaying.

    When you have the chance, could you send us a screenshot of how this extra HTML/Text choice field appears on your site as well provide a link to where this can be seen on the website?

    Here are screenshots showing the difference between the two sites.

    On my dev site, this is how the widget looks:

    But when I installed the same plugin and matches it’s settings on the live site, it gives an additional HTML/text email preference choice:

    Thanks for the quick response. Taking a look over the form, I definitely see what you mean here.

    This option will display on the List Subscribe signup form if the Preferred Format option is selected in MailChimp under “Lists > Your List > Signup Forms > General Forms > checkbox for “Let subscribers pick email format.”

    Once this option is selected and saved in the MailChimp app, it would be necessary to go to the List Subscribe plugin settings and select “Update List.” Selecting “Update List” will sync the List Subscribe form with the MailChimp List’s settings and add the “Preferred Format” field to the signup form.

    It is definitely possible that the Preferred Format option is not appearing on the developer site because it is not up to date with the MailChimp list settings. To update this, I would recommend going into the Plugin settings and clicking “Update List,” or if you would prefer not to have that option on the signup form, go to the MailChimp List and deselect “Let subscribers pick email format.”
