    Hi folks,

Out of several sites using Forminator without any issues, I have a single one that holds a very basic contact form and constantly gets this error:

Warning: preg_split() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given in /wp-content/plugins/forminator/library/fields/textarea.php on line 323

The form still works fine but I really don’t know what to do with that…
    Any clues?

    Thanks.

    Hi @dsl225

    I hope you’re well today!

This is related to the field limits configuration and the data the limit validation function gets.

Could you try a simple thing before we go any further with troubleshooting?

Edit the textarea field on the form and look into “Settings” tab. If the “Max characters” and see if it’s set to “Words”. If it’s set to “Words” but the limit field is empty, try setting some value there or try changing the limit (with empty value) to characters, then save setting and update form.

Let us know if this changes anything or if the warning is still there.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Thanks Adam,

I always set those fields in words but I just see this one was with 800 Characters for some reason. I changed it to 400 Words and I’ll monitor this to see what happens for a couple of days.

Will get back here to update – thanks again!

Looks like the issue is resolved as I don’t get those warnings anymore.
Thanks for your help and will get back here if it happens again.
