Hello! I recently installed the plugin because most of the fonts on my website come from google fonts but I have run into some issues!

I followed the instructions and detected the fonts and styles that were being used. Most of them worked fine except for 1 style (Font: Anton, Weight: 800) which even though was being used was not loaded in the list of fonts. That is my first problem.

Besides that, I noticed there was another post about flickering of the default font until google fonts load and the solution was to add preloading. I have added preloading but it still flickers and I also get errors that suggests the fonts aren’t loading at all even though I can see them. (Seeing them could be due to caching so for all I know it’s not working at all). I have attached a screenshot of the errors from the debugger underneath:

Please advise me if you have any clue as to why that is so!

    Thank you,

    George

*UPDATE* The second part with the loading problem was a server issue and I have managed to fix it! After that was fixed, the preloading and the flickering got fixed as well! I guess this post is reduntant after all I’m going to mark it as resolved ??

How did you fix the flickering mate? I have the same issue.

    Thank you.

Hey man! To be fair I solved all the problems at once because I couldn’t see changes initially due to caching and server issues so I can’t 100% say I know what fixed it. However, I’m relatively sure it is the preloading of the font that fixes it, if it doesn’t change anything try to check the debugger to see if they actually load properly early on. If they do and it still flickers I have no clue :/
Furthermore, even though it was fixed for me it does still happen occasionally but I managed to get the loading speed to a point where it’s instantaneous, it used to take 2-3 seconds for them to change!

I hope this helps although I doubt it based on how clueless I am myself hahaha

    Cheers

    Hey,

I have several fonts and tried to preload them all, that just increased loading times, although probably reduced flickering, negligibly.

How do you know which fonts to preload?
I checked GooglePageInsights but couldn’t find anything that would indicate to specific fonts.
Or can those be found somewhere in Chrome Developers Tool?
