Premium plugins do not work, and they are not good at refunds

I tried the premium plugins to build my website. Basic connections did not function (community features, Eventbrite, etc). One bug partially worked for a period using a workaround, then they broke it all over again.
I have now been working with the developer, unsuccessfully, for nearly SIX MONTHS to try and resolve the issue. Going up tiers as their developers couldn’t figure it out. I have invested hours and hours and hours of my own time helping them regress the multiple bugs (often re-explaining the original bug to new tiers), to no avail. I have finally given up hope, and have sought a refund before the PayPal limit expires. I confirmed they would restart my subscription when the bug was resolved, and they also confirmed they would issue a refund.
Now, suddenly, I am not hearing back about the refund. After ALL THIS WORK HELPING THEM BUILD THEIR PREMIUM PLUGIN.
Honestly, I was frustrated and angry BEFORE this point and now… very much more so. Now I have to waste more hours attempting to get my money back. At least they can give me my money back for a plugin that NEVER WORKED FOR ME.
Beware. Beware beware beware.
Update: I have now heard back and we’re starting the process after I mentioned going through PayPal. I’m glad, still frustrated, but glad they’re at least addressing the messages.
