    Hi there,

I have a problem with the plugin, I can’t use it because the preset page is blank.
I’ve checked the php errors and I have this :

Undefined index: wpcfs in /var/www/test/wp-content/plugins/wp-custom-fields-search/plugin.php in line 63

Use of undefined constant WP_CUSTOM_FIELDS_SEARCH_VERSION – assumed ‘WP_CUSTOM_FIELDS_SEARCH_VERSION’ in /var/www/test/wp-content/plugins/wp-custom-fields-search/plugin.php in line 207

Actually, it would be useful to know some more about your setup.

If you could let me know any of the following that might also help:

What browser you’re using (name and if possible version)
What operating system you’re using (name and if possible version)

What operating system is on your server?
What web-server software you are using (e.g. nginx or apache)

Also, if it is possible to set up a site somewhere that I can access and see the problem, that would be great. Feel free to email details to [email protected], but equally I understand the security issues around doing that so don’t feel you have to.

    Thanks,
    Don

No, it really would not. Please don’t do that as it crosses into this territory.

I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

Which applies to test installations as well. It just goes too far and that’s not permitted here.

    Which usually gets this advice.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

I do get that you want to solve this problem but please provide support within the constraints of the guidelines here.

Also I’ve redacted the earlier ask for login from the author and will be reviewing all of the author’s replies.

    Hi all,

I’ve checked my console errors and I’m getting a 404 error for what looks like some kind of Angular presets.

    Hi @evster,

That’s odd as that file should exist in the plugin directory. Is your wp-content directory in a non-standard location?

Can you see if that file actually exists on your server?

    Thanks,
    Don

I logged in and can confirm that the file exists in the standard location on my web server.

I can’t access it directly in my browser via the URL path, but I think that’s a WordPress security thing, right? When I download and open the file it looks like it isn’t corrupted.
