How does Foogallery handle applying presets/themes to certain galleries? At the moment it seems I have to either base my new galleries on an existing gallery (this is set in the settings) which is fine if you only want one style of gallery sitewide. But what if I want to have 3 different styles/themes and want to simply select the preset style or theme from a dropdown – and not configure the style options every time?

    Hi @dumel

You can actually configure the appearance of each gallery so that each appears differently, or matches your general theme preset. You can do this when editing the gallery on the “Appearance” tab. This guide here explains more about the options under this setting: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/foogallery/appearance-foogallery/appearance-settings/

If you want to configure and customize the appearance your galleries further , I’d recommend you to try out FooGallery Pro, which comes with more options in the “Appearance” sections, and other sections too.

You can opt-in to the trial version first before committing, and here’s a simple guide on how to do so: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/general/faq/start-free-trial/

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

@elviiso I don’t want the pain of upgrading if it won’t help with my issue, and when I look at your documentation it doesn’t look like upgrading will help. That’s why I’m enquiring about it. Let me try explain it more clearly. I know how to change the look and feel of a specific gallery, but if I have one gallery layout that works for my blog posts, but I need another gallery style for my gallery page, then it would be nice if, when I add a gallery, I simply choose from a dropdown a specific style that will instantly apply all the styles I typically use for blog post galleries, without having to go and tweak each of the many options. Is this kind of thing possible?

    Hi @dumel

Thanks for getting back to us with that clarification.

From my understanding of your explanation, I’m glad to let you know that we actually do have a feature that you can use to implement what you just described – the Master Gallery feature. Here’s a guide that will explain how the feature works and how to set it up: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/foogallery/pro-commerce/use-master-gallery/

A quick explanation of the feature is that it allows you to use one or more galleries as a master template for other galleries. Any gallery using the Master gallery will adopt the same settings as the Master Gallery.

When you set up a Master Gallery, you will create and style a gallery, choosing specific settings for your gallery. You will then set this as your master – in other words, it is a template that you can use for any other galleries on your site. You can then set other galleries to use the master, meaning these galleries will inherit all of the master gallery’s settings.

Even though the feature is in the FooGallery Pro Commerce plan, you can still test this feature out when you enable the trial version: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/general/faq/start-free-trial/

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

@elviiso Thank you, yes that is what I had in mind. I will keep this in mind but the pro license may be a little overkill. You know these days it costs so much in premium plugins to get a site to the point where it has all the functionalilty you need. I honestly feel sorry for my clients sometimes. But I will give them the option.
