"Press This" doesn't work when iThemes Security plugin is activated

  • When the plugin is activated, the “Press This” scriptlet (from the wp admin dashboard) returns the following error:

    403 Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/press-this.php on this server.

    (Hide backend is not enabled)

    I’ve had other issues with this plug-in, so I’m wondering if this is another bug or whether it’s something I can hack/fix for now?

  • I have the exact same problem! Please help. This is a very frustrating problem since i use “press this” quite often and Security is important for me too.

    Okay, I think I may have had an old/faulty bookmarklet. When I dragged a new “Press this” button to toolbar, and used that, it worked!

    Resolved.
