    Hello!

My Pretty Google Calendar won’t load on my homepage and I’m trying to figure out why. Originally it was just doing this on mobile but now it’s doing this on desktop as well. I’ve tried multiple browsers, I’ve deleted and re-installed all my plugins, I’ve cleared cache. Please help!

Also, it did load once on mobile and it wasn’t responsive to the screen size. I would also like help figuring out how to make it responsive depending on where it is being viewed. Thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • @lbell I haven’t changed any of the shortcodes for them to stop working. I’m using various versions of the shortcode and all have worked fine until some point last week.

As I’ve said previously, I followed all of the above mentioned steps from the link and even created a new API Key, updated that key on the settings page of your plugin, but have still had no success. Would you be willing to help me further by perhaps allowing me to give you a temporary sign in to our website or some sort of screen share?

@splntrdhands Embeds work differently than FullCalendar which uses the API. The API is sometimes finicky, and has changed over the years.

To clear the cache, ensure you’ve cleared any WordPress caching plugins, then open up the Developer Tools in your browser (ctrl-shift-I usually) and you should be able to right-click the refresh button and it will give the option to “empty cache and reload”

Also, see my post of a few days ago: “Also, are you running any WordPress “Security” plugins? Apparently a?very unlikely to be exploited?vulnerability was flagged in PGC that might be causing some security plugins to block it.”

We have fixed the exploit in V2.0.0, but it may take a little while for any security plugins to get the message that it’s good to go.

@lbell Oh, yea, I’ve cleared the browser cache on both Chrome and Edge and my android phone. I thought you were talking about some sort of WordPress cache.

    Any change with v2.0?

@lbell no changes here. The only possible other issue I can see is that we are running WordPress 6.5.3 and see that you are only tested up to 6.5.2. Could that be possibly the issue? Although, we ran the plugin fine with the 6.5.3 for a while.

@lbell This morning I decided to reinstall WordPress 6.5.3 and it seems to be working now. Weird. I’ll let you know if anything changes.

    @lbell and….. its back to loading…

@splntrdhands That behavior (works, then suddenly doesn’t) makes me think there’s a conflict with either a plugin or your theme (or there’s a security plugin that’s shutting it down). Shoot me an email at lbell270 at the gmail and we can investigate.

Sooooo my calendar is working now but now it’s in German?! hahahaha. What the heck. I haven’t done anything for the past two weeks and it just magically started working. Maybe an update happened?

Update: It is now in English and working fine.

I’m not sure if this will help, but mine was stuck on loading. It was working, then after I changed the theme a number of my elements started misbehaving. The thing that has worked for me is deleting the HTML element then add a new one in and paste in your previous shortcode. Update and after a minute or so the calendar starts loading again.

    Thanks for the idea.

Just note, you should be using the “shortcode” block type, rather than HTML for shortcodes.
