    Hi,

    I experience 404 errors of all prettylinks which are included in a post when updating this post. The wordpress standard editor apparently checks all links on publishing / updating of a post. As a result all involved prettylinks show up as 404 in the server log with “HEAD /prettylinkexample HTTP/1.1” requested from my server IP – user agent WordPress/4.9.8;
    All of these prettylinks are correct and generally working, the issue occurs only in case wordpress performs its internal checks. This is already ongoing for a while, but I just noticed now.

    How can to avoid these 404 errors?

    Thank you.

    It is likely checking them against its known permalinks only and does not check or care if the link is a redirect. It won’t affect the functionality of the pretty links however.
