    Hi all

I have a Pretty Link (Lite) questions in regards to “no follow”. In fact it’s a general question about plugins in general that offer the option to apply no follow to links. Does it really work??

It only now occurred to me that when using the FireFox add on NoDoFollow and looking in SEO suites like SEOmoz, that 95% of my links are actually marked as FOLLOW, while the opposite should be the case.

Maybe these tools don’t track WordPress no followed links as such… Not sure what to think of this. Does NO FOLLOW really work when applied to links when given the option through a plugin or do you have to resolve to the HTML code no follow tag straight in the code??

    Many thanks for your answers!

Pretty Link does send a nofollow/noindex in the http header of the request (you won’t see it in the HTML because its sent with the http request).

As for the effectiveness of the nofollow … Google has come out and said that they pretty much ignore it. This option will also send a noindex which should be honored by google but even that is debatable.

    Hope that helps,

    Hi Blair

Many thanks for your answer. Yeah, I believe I know what you mean. So I can rest assured that I DO NOT need to add rel=”nofollow” to the source code when it comes to any Pretty Link generated URL where I ticked the box apply nofollow/noindex?

I guess, if Pretty Link sends this no follow request in the http header, then I don’t have to worry about scrambled SEO link statistics right? I guess I just read it all wrong when I was in panic mode.

    Many thanks!!

supercleanse, It is very thanks for you, 非常感谢你啊,嗯,原来是这个原理啊,。
