Pretty Links Hits Not Counting

    I suddenly noticed that my blog suddenly stopped counting Hits. It was counting the hits before, but a few days ago the Hits stopped counting.

    The pretty links redirect correctly to their assigned destination URLs.

    The blog is using Pretty Links Pro.

    In the error_log of my site, I noticed that there seemed to be a problem entering data into the table which is used by Pretty Links:

    Try trimming some old hits from the database (you should do this once in a while anyways to keep the database from growing too large). If that doesn’t work, try temporarily switching back and forth between Normal and Extended tracking modes, sometimes that will fix this issue as well.

    I did your first suggestion of trimming the old hits – didn’t work!

    The second option half-worked. Some URLs did register the correct hits/uniques, while others didn’t. I still wonder why.

    The pretty links still correctly redirect to their corresponding destination URLs.

    I noticed that the error_log isn’t generated anymore even if some URLs didn’t register hits/uniques.

    Thanks for the feedback. I’ll put this on our issue tracker and see if we can figure what’s causing this to occur. Keep an eye on it and let me know if you see anything else strange that may be helpful for us in narrowing this down.
