Pretty Permalinks with Plesk for Windows

I’m trying to set up my blog using Plesk 8.1.1 for Windows.

Using a custom permalink gives me a 404 error. I saw that there was no .htaccess file so I created a blank one and chmod-ed it to 666.

However, after updating my permalink structure again, the .htaccess file was still empty.

I tried uploading a .htaccess file with the appropriate contents, but still, I get the 404 error.

I’m not sure what to try next. I’m using the on-line plesk control panel from a Mac.

Any guidance would be appreciated.
