Even without subscribing to the WP Boom service (which is very useful), the ability to clone my live site as a dev site – complete with config changes, without having to fuss over the details, is so useful and saves me so much time. Once I am done with the cloned site I can simply delete it.
The WP Boom service has a free tier that lets me take screenshots of all the pages on my live site AND my dev site. I can even compare future screenshots to help me ascertain if anything changed since the original screenshot. If the page broke because of a plugin or theme update, the plugin displays this by providing you with a percentage that indiciates the differences, along with a magenta mask to highlight those changes.
