Prevent adding more than one of the same product

  • I have a digital download website. I would like my customers to only be able to add one digital downaload product. I want to remove the quantiy option. But even if I do that clients can click on add to cart button multiple times by accident.I can’t solve this. Nobody wants to pay for the same product multiple times. I can’t figure this out. Thought surecart was optimized for digital download. This should be under settings. “Deactivate quatity!”. How do I solve this?

    Hi There!

    Happy to help here. You can actually limit this in your product settings. There is an “Advanced” box where you can limit the number of times a customer can purchase a specific product

    This is exactly what I have searched for. And still do. Can’t find it under advances settings. Do you need a license? I’m using Surecart for digital downloads, but I have 5 stores/domains and paying 199 dolars each year for each store (domain), will be to expenceive. Then Woocommerce will be a better choice ??

    Oi, there. I tried that. I want quanity to disapear. It doesn’t. And a customer that shop muliple things can also put the same product in multiple times. Then it’s suddenly two of the same. So that option does not not fix the problem. I don’t want to spend time refunding clients thats suddenly discover that they have paid to much.

    Hmmm… that doesn’t sound like expected behavior. Right now the quantity selector doesn’t disappear, it just won’t let you add more than one, if that is the limit you set. Can you give it a test? You shouldn’t be able to increase the quantity or complete the purchase.

    It’s no problem to add more of the same product if you go back and put the same product in the cart. The only thing this option does is deactivate the arrow where you can increase the number of products.

    When you you work with digital downloads, there should be an option to remove quantity that just seem to confuse users.
