prevent duplicates in search results

Is there a way to prevent duplicate pages displaying within the search results. Meaning… i currently have 3 identical pages, each page has a different parent page. When i do a search, all 3 show up, and i only want one.

Also, is there a better way to do this rather than pages? Is there a way to link post categories to display in certain pages?
