Prevent Polylang to redirect and interfere with the homepage

Hello,

I’m testing Polylang, and I was wondering if there’s a way (via PHP or plugin settings) to prevent Polylang from interfering or trying to redirect a static homepage as set in

WP-admin> Settings > Reading > “Your homepage displays” > A static page

I understand that there’s a use case to have “per language” homepages at site.com/lang-code/ but it seems like a good thing to have the root page being something of the site owner’s choosing, perhaps with posts from different languages, or just a static home with links to each site.com/lang-code/

It looks like it’s not possible just to have a static page of our choosing without the plugin trying to redirect it somewhere.
