Prevent portfolio creation from author

  • Hey,

    Thanks for your great plugin! I was wondering if it was possible to prevent a user registered as ‘Author’ to create a new portfolio. I’d like to keep this feature only available for the administrator of the website. In short, I’d like to have the ‘portfolio’ button hidden for authors.

    Is it possible to do so?

    Sorry this isn’t an option in wordpress from what I understand. since the user has access to edit post then any custom post type they would also have access too. wordpress bundles them together in user roles.

    Hey,

    Thx for your quick answer. I’m also using Maps Maker plugin, and in this plugin it is possible to choose which user can do what (in a general preference panel). I don’t know how they achieved that, but it suggests that it can be done ??
    Well, if by any chance, you could add this feature, that would be awesome!

    Because the portfolio is a custom post type. (different from what the maps maker would be using) I don’t know of a way to even do it if I wanted to. It’s just not really built into the wordpress core.
