• I have just accidentally deleted a widget area that I created with Widgets on Pages

The widget was used on a lot of pages, which now just show a broken short code.

I have recreated the widget area, and the widgets in it, but the new widget area has a new ID, so I guess I have to find all instances of this short code and change it accross my site. This is very frustrating!

I think it would be worth having a 2-step deletion process when it comes to deleting widget areas to avoid this – ie click to delete widget area, then click to confirm deletion.

(I would also love a 2 step deletion process for individual widgets (but that is a separate issue!)

Ay thoughts would be great – maybe this would be a useful feature to add…

    Hey @salpilk

Sorry to hear your pain, and I think a confirmation step is a great idea.
What process did you follow to delete the widget area? Could you please detail the steps you took?

    Thanks,
    Todd
