    Hi
I hope that this is a simple question, but I have searched the documentation and can’t find an answer.
I would like to stop a form from being submitted when the user hits the Enter key.
Using Yikes Easy Forms for Mailchimp, I have a text field for users to enter a message, similar to this one. The users will start typing “Hi” and then press Enter, for a carriage return, to go to the next line. That has the action of submitting the form and I’d like for them to carry on writing their message.
I’d like the submit button to only action when it is clicked.
On a related note, I’d also like the field box to be larger – like this one – but I’m being lazy as I haven’t spent much time looking into that.
    Thank you

    Hi @martinhunter,

Unfortunately our plugin (and MailChimp.com) are not equipped to support textarea or “paragraph” fields. This means we cannot truly make a field larger – it will remain a one line field.

If you’d still like to prevent submissions when the enter key is clicked, please send me the URL of your form. We’ll need to add a filter function to your functions.php file to support this.

    All the best,
    Kevin.

Thanks for your reply Kevin. I will need to rethink how I do this as people filling in my form will be doing so, to send me a message.

    Thanks for your help.

That’s understandable. I will close this ticket. Feel free to open another one if you have any additional questions.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.
