Preventing Spam Bots from Using Search Bar?

I’ve been having a weird issue the past few weeks in which the searches on my website (Swiftype installed) look like spam. Here is an image of what I’m talking about:

This is strange because I can’t use any CAPTCHA to prevent this since it’s search and I want to steer clear from a plugin solution if possible.

Any ideas?
