I am using For Maker. I am getting spam messages. I found them and blocked the ip. Now the person is using a different ip address. Do you offer something like a math function to assure it is a person? We don’t have a Cappcha code and don’t want to purchase one.

    Thanks!

    Hello, @annasue!

Thank you for posting your inquiry!

Could you please try to add Google ReCaptcha to your form? It is very user-friendly, validates the user with just one click.

Note, that not having any spam protection on the form will let spambots to submit any random messages. So we highly recommend using ReCaptcha.

    Please check this screenshot.

    Thanks! Have a wonderful day!

I got a reCaptcha code. Now, how do I incorporate it into the form? I got the html code and tried to add a plain html link at the end of the form. The box comes up to allow me to paste the code in. I click on Save and nothing happens. Is there documentation somewhere on how to get it in the form?

    Hello, @annasue!

It is not necessary to place an HTML code, please simply provide Google ReCaptcha pubic and private keys the following way.

Please firstly register your website On Google ReCaptcha website:
    https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/index.html

You will need to provide your website link as shown in the example on the site. Afterwards copy ReCaptcha Public and Private keys to MailChimp WD > Global Options.

Let me know in case you have questions.
    Cheers!

I entered the codes in Global Options but there is no reCaptcha box showing up on the form. Is it supposed to?

    Hello, @annasue!

Please note, that you also need to add ReCaptcha field. Press Add New Field button, then go to Captcha field type.

Choose ReCaptcha option as shown in this screenshot, then click Save. Afterwards save your form, and ReCaptcha will appear on the form.

    Thanks! Have a great day!

I got the recaptcha code working. Is there a way to make the font larger? I went to edit the field and there is a font size there but it won’t let me change it.

Also, since setting up recaptcha, I have gotten over 60 messages like the following – all from Russian addresses. How can I stop this!

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

    [email protected]
    host dnvrco-pub-iedge-vip.email.rr.com [107.14.73.70]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:

Many of the email addresses have a rr.com at the end, indicating they are spammers.

    Hello, @annasue!

Please note, that usually, this problem occurs when users provide an incorrect email when filling out the form. The website servers is not being able to send the email this way.

Since you have Captcha on your form, it is hardly possible that the submissions could be done by automated spam bots. Could you please check the submissions of your form and see if they are coming from the same IP address?

If that’s so, please block those IPs by selecting corresponding submissions and pressing Block IP.

Let us know if this helps.
Thank you! Have a great day!

They are from different email address but all seem to end in .rr.com, which indicates they are from Russia and thus, spam. Is there a way to tell the system to NOT try to send the person an email? Thus far, there has been only one legitimate person to send an email. Also, this was not happening before I installed reCaptcha.

I have tried to set a filter in Outlook to put the messages in a junk folder but that has not worked. I have gotten over 100 of these messages and they keep coming in.
