• Hi friends,

I’ve been searching for several days on support forums, but can’t found help. I’ll try to explain.

When writing a post, if I press the ‘preview’ button, it launches a browser window with the post preview as it will be seen, but it uses the single.php appearance, I mean I can preview the post itself, but not how the post will show in the index page. Is there anyway to use the preview (or maybe using a plugin) to use the .css from homepage instead the .css from single?

I mean, any post has a wider column in the inner view, but in homepage it appears in a thinner column, with a smaller font, etc.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • I do not know of a plugin off hand, but the easiest way would be to just make that post “private” and when you want to check it make it “public”. Then you can bounce back and forth.

A far more cumbersome way which would involve creating a mirror template page of your index.php page and also a category for your posts that are in testing stage.

You’d have to alter your “real” index page then to NOT show the testing category. A real pain, I know and will most likely cause other issues where you are listing categories, etc.

You could keep posts in testing category until ready for live.

You’re right! It was as simple as making the post private, I was thinking on using Theme Test Drive WordPress plugin, so two different index.php could show posts on a certain category (draft for internal use).
