Am i doing something wrong or is previewing a popup extremely broken ?

    1. i can’t preview a popup without hitting the update button (this is not how Preview works on Post or Pages, so it’s inconsistent)
    2. i can’t preview the popup without enabling it first.
    3. even if I enable the popup, if i make any changes i have to hit the Update button again, which resets the popup to a disabled state….every…single…time.
So after any change i make i have to first Update the popup and then Enable it, just to preview it.

Can it even get any worse ?

Also among the popup themes there is one that sounds exactly like what i need, the Content Only one, since i’m just using an image as the popup usually, all i need is the image, the overlay and a close button, but this theme has no close button.
And even though it says it’s made for page builders (like Elementor) which my website has, i don’t see the usual Edit with Elementor button anywhere, so how am i supposed to even use page builders with it ?

    Also 2:
Why is the wording and explanation for Cookie Time so bad ? even your own documentation doesn’t clarify it.
What does “valid for a term of 1 month” even mean ? all i care about is the frequency at which the popup is shown, which i usually want it to be once every day.
So is Cookie Time actually Cookie Frequency ? or does the popup show every day for 1 month and then it stops ?
(an Auto Stop/Disable feature sure would be nice)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @joegp

    Thank you for reaching out.

We’re sorry about the preview issue in your site.

We think there’s a possible conflict with your theme or another plugin.

Can you try the following for us?

    1. Temporarily deactivate your third-party plugins, and switch the theme to WordPress Twenty Twenty-Two.
    2. Clear out any browser, WordPress, server, database, and CDN caches you have.
    3. Retest using a private or incognito window with no active browser extensions.

Let us know how that goes.

    For Content Only
I replicate the issue where the close button is not visible in the frontend.

Could you edit the popup theme – Content Only and update the font color of the close button? Here’s how it will look:

    Cookie Time
The valid for a term of 1 month means that after the popup is closed, it will show the popup after 1 month.

You may use different cookie time. Those are:

    • seconds,
    • minute(s),
    • hour(s),
    • day(s),
    • month(s), and
    • year(s)

    Here’s a sample using 24 hours:

We hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any questions.

This preview issue with the Enable toggle flipping back to disable only happens if i enable it while editing the popup, if i first enable the popup (in the popup list) and then edit it, then it doesn’t change back to disable on it’s own.
This has happened on multiple websites i manage for at least the past 6 months.

I don’t have time for testing right now, so i’m just gonna mark this as resolved for now.

    For Content Only
Yes, you are right, there was a very small black X on my dark image, i missed it somehow.
    Sorry for troubling you.

    Cookie Time
Yeah, i figured that out eventually, my problem lies with the wording, both in the plugin and the documentation, it’s simply not clear enough.
