• Thanks for a great plugin! I’m a new user, and I’m really happy with how easy the plugin has been to use so far!

So far, I’m trying to create an image page that has 2 albums each with 2 galleries inside of them. When I click on a gallery name, I’m taken to a nice page with pretty thumbnails that function as expected. However, no preview images display next to the gallery names or album names. I just get a broken link image. When I go to manage albums/galleries, there is a preview image selected, it just doesn’t display.

I’d really appreciate any suggestions you might have, b/c the plugin is exactly what I need except for this one issue.

    Here is the URL:

    Thanks!

  • I have exactly the same problem.

I have one album that contains three galleries – each gallery displays OK on its own page, but the thumbnail preview image for each gallery isn’t displaying on the Album Page

    Any help would be appreciated!

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I noticed several more recent posts that seem to be describing the same problem, but so far no fix has been suggested. I’d appreciate any help I can get!

@klderose – Would you mind testing a few things to see if this helps:

    – Reset your permalinks under Settings >> Permalinks to ‘Post Name’
    – Clear image cache under Gallery >> Other Options > Misc.

Do either or both of those actions help?

    Hi Becky,

Clearing the image cache didn’t affect the problem and neither did resetting the permalinks.

Here is one thing I noticed. When the preview image for a gallery is called, I end up with this URL which goes to a folder that doesn’t exist. It isn’t even trying to go to the wp-content folder, which seems strange to me:

    https://planets.ucla.edu/nextgen-image/2/91×68/crop/8fb1468d948035cfede99eaeb0c5ab8f

This is what the url to a thumbnail inside a gallery looks like (it shows up beautifully):

    https://planets.ucla.edu/wp-content/gallery/outreach/thumbs/thumbs_img_0189.jpg

Any suggestions on what is going wrong with the preview images? Is there a line of code I could modify to point to one of the thumbnails in the above folder?

    Thanks for your help!

    -Kim

    Hi Becky,

I also followed you instruction to @klderose and still no thumbnails are appearing on my album page.

As above, when I ‘inspect element’ of the missing image I get this:

    <a href="https://www.lighttherapyuk.co.uk/gallery/nggallery/equine-light-therapy/light-therapy-for-people/"><img class="Thumb" alt="Light Therapy for People" src="https://www.lighttherapyuk.co.uk/nextgen-image/21/91x68/crop/8967e87ae2df6b64eb42d2584150fd09"></a>

Please advise how to correct this error.

    Hi Becky,

I just submitted a bug report. I’d rather not provide login credentials unless it’s really necessary, but if you really can’t duplicate the issue, I’ll consider it (just shoot me an e-mail).

    Thanks,

I submitted a bug report and it sounds like they’ll be looking into it for the next update. In the meantime, I’ve sort of worked around the issue, by creating a page where I’ve inserted my own version of preview images that each link to a separate page where one gallery displays. This would be a pain if you have a lot of galleries, but since I only have a few so far, it has worked okay for me. You can see what I did here:

    Good luck!

Hi Kiderose, thanks for the heads up. I submitted a bug report too.

I have hundreds of images coming from about a dozen albums so that’s not going to be a good solution for me ??
