I know this is a common issue, but I’ve tried disabling Bootstrap, deactivating all other plugins and nothing works. It’s odd because the preview was working yesterday, and I’ve had no updates to anything since, and now it doesn’t work. The only change I made was uploading one new doc. After that, all files in the library return “The document cannot be retrieved. The GET operation on the URL returned an unsuccessful HTTP status code.” I’m using version 3.0.17 of mDocs with Avada theme version 3.8.8. This is an intranet with confidential docs, so I don’t want to give login details in a public forum.

Can you goto Dashboard>Memphis Docs>Options> and run Preview and Thumbnail Updater

What happens with the preview after you run it.

I had done that before I contacted support, but ran it again just now. No change. All docs preview say “The document cannot be retrieved. The GET operation on the URL returned an unsuccessful HTTP status code.”

I am thinking of removing box view and going back to google doc view, too many headaches with the product.

If I do your problem should be resolved.

OK. I look forward to the update.

This is exactly the same for me, it was working yesterday but not today. I just thought it was me going mad.

I have Version 3.0.18 now, but the preview still doesn’t work. Is there any way to remove Preview as an option in the live library?

yes you can turn it off from the settings menu, go tot the bottom of the page

Document Page Settings> uncheck Show Preview

Thanks. It brings up the preview box but says No Preview Available on all file types.

hmmm, do you have a link I could look at?

Sorry. It’s an intranet with confidential docs, so I’m not allowed to put it out there. It’s not critical. Everyone at my company loves the plugin with just the download option. BTW – I also updated to WP 4.4, so that may be an issue that will be addressed in future updates.

If it is a confidential docs I won’t recommend using preview anyway. The preview is using a third party app, either Box or Google but both need access to the file in order to create a document preview. I would recommend turning off preview if indeed your site is an intranet site.
