• I’m working on a plugin to ease the process of publishing posts and pages for my users. Until now I have not utilized the preview page / post function as it seemed clunky and punitive. Now I would like to utilize it, but I’m having a problem.

If I have permalinks set to /%postname%/ I cannot preview pages / posts.

If using /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ preview returns as expected.

In both instances the preview link ?p=ID&preview=true redirects to ?page_id=ID as expected, but only works with a permalink configured as /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/.

I’m running a multisite and have tested this on several sites. It is not theme or plugin related.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Same here – even with latest WordPress version.
Works perfectly with default permalink but not with /%postname%/
