Preview window not working

    Hi guys,
    If I make some changes to my page (any page on my site), then click the preview button without updating, a new blank tab opens up with a message saying “Please wait… Generating preview.” and it just sits there until I close the tab. If I update the page first before I click the preview button, I can see my preview.

    I have tested this on a bunch of pages on a couple of different sites, it does the same thing for me on Twenty Seventeen theme, and my own themes, I can replicate this each time.

    Hi,

    This is a known race condition, unfortunately, it will hopefully be addressed in the next version of Gutenberg (3.4.1+).

    (I’m going to mark this as resolved, as it’s a known issue that we’ve created a patch for.)

    Ok thanks Marius, but maybe it should only be marked resolved once it has actually be resolved?

    With all the input coming in, we’re also using the resolved feature to keep track of which topics have tickets created (so that we can focus further discussions on the tickets), or if it’s already been fixed in the code (even if the update hasn’t been pushed yet, this lets us know the problem has been addressed).
