    how do we restrict the previous and next buttons on the post so that they only show posts from the same category, rather than all categories?

    This plugin does not come with the next and previous buttons. Are you sure you are using this plugin? Can you please share your site URL?

    we are not suing this plugin yet – we are trying to find a plugin which displays only articles for the same category in the next and previous, or page number buttons

    I am sorry, this plugin does not have the feature you are looking for.
