Price to set up a WP site?

  • Someone has asked me to set up WordPress site for them. They asked how much it would cost to set one up. What is the going price to set up a WordPress site? It will have 3-4 pages and need minor graphic work done. If they like my work i could have 10-11 sites to set up. Thanks for your help.

  • There is no “going rate” as this all depends on your definition of setting up a wordpress site. The entire process of registering a domain, installing wordpress, installing an off the shelf theme, and activating a few basic plugins can be done in under an hour. This kind of service can be had for for nothing in many cases, or as much as a few hundred dollars. If you’re talking about a fully customized theme with custom plugins, it might be several thousand dollars. The biggest questions are what is your skill level, what do your customers need, and what are they willing to pay?

    It will be registering a domain, installing wordpress, installing an off the shelf theme, and activating a few basic plugins. With a little graphic work to fit the company.

    So you should charge for about an hour of your time. Or are you asking someone to do it for you?

    No someone is asking me to set up a site, and they are willing to pay. I was just wondering what a good fee would be.

    You need to determine what YOUR time is worth, and go from there. Asking people here what a “good fee” would be is like asking someone what shade of red they like.

    Everyone values their time differently.

    I just fixed a site that took over an hour all told, and I did it for free.

    I don’t like red.

    im looking for someone to setup my wordpress. ive registered the domain, designed the layout via blogspot, but much happier with how wordpress runs so wanna get it done on wordpress. (unfortunately my wordpress knowledge is rather limited at the moment, am learning!)
