Primary and Secondary Menus

  • Hi
    I am trying to make each individual tab on my primary menu link to the secondary menu so that in effect each individual primary tab leads to an individual set of tabs in the secondary menu rather than it just remaining static.

    I hope you can help and I’m not an advanced WP user so its ok to use simple terms.

  • In the menus section of the dashboard you can drag and drop secondary menus on top of the primary. Then they will show under the primaries tab.

    Do you mean to actually move the secondary menus or the heading inside the secondary menus. I cannot drag and drop the actual menus.

    I’m not sure if I understand correctly or if I have explained wrong but I am looking for the two menus to act like the two menus on this site and here is the link to my site which shows the template I am using.

    So if for example I have a food and a sport tab on the primary menu there will be a secondary menu with food related tabs that will only show up when I click on the food tab. And then I need a separate secondary menu linking to sport categories when I click on the primary sport tab. At the moment this is not happening at all. But I don’t want the two secondary tabs to show all the time, just when the relevant primary tab is clicked. And I will build the menu this way.

    If this is what you have already told me I cannot seem to get it to work.

    It looks like the nav menus at the top of the page in black are working like you want. But, your theme is a commercial theme and so it is not supported here as we just don’t know all the ins and outs of so many commercial themes. I couldn’t find the support link but here is a tutorial on menus for your theme.
