    Hi,

I′m about to create a network of 10 online travel guides using WP Multisite. Each site will have it′s one domainname, like city1.com, city2.com, city3.com etc.

I just have a few last doubts:

    1. Since this set-up is completely non-hierarchical, does it make any difference which site I make the primary domain?
    2. Would it make any difference in terms of performance (eg should I make the site that receives most visitors the primary domain)?
    3. For scalability/flexibility, would it make sense to install multisite on a domain that′s not in use and install all other domains on top of that one? (eg city1.placeholderdoamin.com, city2.placeholderdoamin.com).

I′m probably worrying too much, it′s just that I want to make sure to do it right the first time to avoid any problems in the future ??

    Many thanks for your help!!

  • I usually do #3, but its got nothing to do with scalability or flexibility. just a preference.

also, all users will be signing up on the main domain.

Thanks Andrea, I had that set up in mind as well but I didn′t find anything about that approach in the forums, so that′s why I started to ask myself it was a good idea.

yeah 1 & 2 are irrelevant. makes no difference. at least if you’re not having users sign up.

Brilliant, everything is clear now. Thanks again and I′ll close this thread.
